This Week At Kindred Homestead 7.6
This week, I shared something that's been on my heart for a long time.
For years, I believed my story wasn't interesting enough because it started in a tiny Midwestern town and looked a little too ordinary. But I've realized that the very things I once wanted to hide—our small town, our lived-in home, our imperfect family—are often the things that help others feel less alone. If you've ever wrestled with those same thoughts, I'd love for you to read the full blog.
I also shared one of my favorite summer recipes: a simple marinated cucumber and tomato salad filled with fresh herbs from the garden. It's quick to make, even better after it sits for a bit, and has become one of those recipes we come back to all season long.
I'm never one to rush the seasons, but I do love slowly welcoming the transition into fall. Right now is the perfect time to begin collecting a few timeless pieces that will carry your home beautifully from late summer into autumn—think layered textiles, warm wood tones, pottery, and cozy accents rather than pumpkins everywhere. I've linked some of my favorite recent finds from Pottery Barn and Walmart that make the seasonal shift feel effortless, collected, and intentional.

And finally, I wanted to offer a little reminder that not every moment of life can be romanticized—and that's okay. Most days are filled with laundry, dishes, emails, errands, and trying to remember what's for dinner. I've found that a beautiful life isn't made up of perfectly curated moments, but by learning to find gratitude in the ordinary ones.
As always, thank you for being here and for making this such a beautiful, thoughtful community. I’m truly so grateful for each of you.
