This Week At Kindred Homestead 8.16

Don’t miss a thing on LTK, ShopMy, and Amazon.

This Week at Our Home

This week felt like a nice mix of inspiration, reflection, and those little things that make everyday life feel a bit more beautiful.

And we also shared a little behind-the-scenes look at our biggest home project yet: the pool! After years of talking about it, we finally took the plunge (literally!). It’s definitely still a work in progress, but we’re embracing the messy middle and enjoying it along the way.

I started leaning into the transition to fall with our fall front porch sources and inspiration, sharing ideas for making the outside of your home feel cozy and welcoming as we head into a new season. I love this time of year because even small changes can make home feel completely different.

I also shared some in-my-cart finds—a mix of things I’m loving, considering, or simply think would be fun to bring into my closet. I always want these finds to feel like inspiration rather than a list of things you need to buy.

That idea really carried into one of my posts this week about sharing life online. It’s so easy to start curating a version of yourself that feels impressive enough to share, but I never want this space to make you feel like contentment is waiting on the other side of having more. I want to share beautiful things while also reminding you to notice the beauty in the life you already have.

We brought that same mindset into Amazon outfit finds for the summer-to-fall transition—easy pieces that help bridge the seasons without feeling like you need an entirely new wardrobe. Just a few fresh ideas for getting dressed as the weather starts to change.

I also shared some of my favorite statement lighting from Lamps Plus, because lighting is one of those things that can completely change the feeling of a room. It’s such a fun way to add personality and make a space feel more finished without changing everything.

And finally, I opened up a little more about the reality that life can hold a lot of feelings at once. Grief can exist alongside joy, uncertainty alongside excitement, and missing what was alongside looking forward to what’s coming. I think there’s something really comforting in remembering that we don’t have to rush through any of it.

Overall, this week felt like a reminder of what I want this space to be: beautiful things, helpful finds, and inspiration—but always grounded in real life, gratitude, and finding the beauty in the season we’re actually in.

As always, thank you for being here and for making this such a beautiful, thoughtful community. I’m truly so grateful for each of you.
