Spring Living Room Refresh With Prairie Gardens

Is it officially spring yet?? Well, even if it isn’t, my house is busting through the seems with spring greenery. I have had the honor and privilege of partnering up with my very favorite home & gardens store here in Champaign, IL, Prairie Gardens, to bring you a very easy and effortless way to bring spring to YOU even if it doesn’t always feel like it outside.

Did you know that not only does Prairie Gardens (and it’s twin Jeffrey Alans) have the most beautiful gardening department, but within the very same brick and mortar store hosts an ever growing department of the most gorgeous home decor pieces. Saving you a trip to any other local decor pit stops you might frequent.

Spring Living Room Refresh With Prairie Gardens

Walking into this store with my kids in tow is always such a blend of awe and wonder PLUS a whole lot of chaos (I’m sure the store associates can attest to that). They love running through the store setting their gaze upon all the beautiful handmade wreaths, swags, and center pieces. It’s so fun watching their little imaginations come to life with all the beautiful things around them. Plus I get to teach them about my favorite subject…HOME DECOR!

But the minute we walk through the doors of the house plants department, it’s like we are walking through a mystical, magical fairy tale land; full of color and bursting with life. It’s so fun to let them “get in” on the big projects happening within our home because it makes them feel even more connected to our home. Not to mention, they thought they were literally playing in a jungle, and I don’t blame them…I did too!

I knew for this tiny spring makeover, I wanted to incorporate A LOT of green and of course some more neutrals! I have a home with wonderful natural light so grabbing a couple pothos and ZZ plants was right up my ally (they don’t need a ton of direct sunlight and aren’t super high maintenance when it comes to watering them! And please don’t mistake me for having a “green thumb,” trust me the less amount of work…THE BETTER! I’ve killed my fair share of house plants!). Prairie Gardens just got in these super cute neutral clay pots that fit perfectly into this space, not to mention they are extremely inexpensive. I also wanted to add a bit of height and dimension to the many surfaces I have in this space, so I grabbed a few stands and lanterns to create height where I needed it. Not to mention texturizing and layering! These two aspects to interior decorating are HUGE when it comes to adding pops of color to a mostly neutral color palette.

So without further ado, here is a little glimpse into our Spring Living Room Refresh with Prairie Gardens. I hope you enjoy your virtual tour as much as I enjoyed creating it! And remember if you have any questions please direct them to the comments section below!

I call this my “white room” (my kids actually made it up) but I have a slight obsession with muted green tones (obviously) so this collaboration was absolutely perfect for this space. I loved layering in the color throughout this space and mixing in faux plants with living ones. It creates such warmth and depth to this space that makes me want to lounge in here all day. Some of the smaller items I’m going to be showing below (like the yellow “bee plate,” the glass bottles, the faux olive tree plants, the decorative pillows, the wooden sign, and the lanterns) I found dispersed throughout the store. I love how throughout the entirety of this massive store you can continue to find hidden gems throughout. Take a peek to see what I mean.

Like I mentioned earlier, I love to layer and add texture to my spaces. I think it’s the simplest way to add variety and differentiate your makeover from the one before. SO here, I’ve taken one of these amazing wood signs and layered it with one of their gorgeous handmade wreaths. And as you can see, it creates such unique look and feel to the mantle. I love that in a month or two I can take the wreath down and place it somewhere new and the mantle will take on a whole new look. Same with the windows frames I have hanging on my wall; I paired them with a woven wood basket and then added an additional layer inside the basket with a simple faux lavender bundle hung upside down.

It’s often the little things like that that can make a big difference! Not to mention it can be one of the most cost efficient ways to make a makeover last! Before you go, here are a couple more pictures of the space and don’t forget, I have a list of the items I received from Prairie Gardens (and can also be found at their Jeffrey Alans locations as well) at the bottom of this post. Although they are not stoppable links you can still get a good feel for what you can expect to find when arriving at the store.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by! You can find the items I used in this post listed below, remember these items aren’t shoppable via online but there are multiple Prairie Gardens/Jeffrey Alans stores in the Central Illinois/Indiana area so make sure to check out the stores listed below to see if there is one close to you!

xoxo, Tessa
