Three Simple Projects That Transformed Our Home This Month

Sometimes it’s not the big renovations that make the biggest impact—it’s the quiet, thoughtful touches that bring a home to life. This past month, we tackled three simple projects that have truly transformed the way our spaces feel and function. Each one brought more warmth, beauty, and intention into our daily rhythms—and none required a full-blown renovation to get there.

Here’s a peek at the three game-changers we completed this month:

1. Café Curtains in the Kitchen

I’ve had a vision for soft café curtains in our kitchen for quite some time. There’s something so charming and timeless about them—they offer just the right amount of privacy while still letting in that glorious morning light.

We used Rejuvenation’s café rods and clips, which gave the whole setup a polished, vintage-inspired look. I love how they frame the window, soften the space, and make it feel like a cozy cottage kitchen in the French countryside. It’s amazing how such a small detail can shift the whole atmosphere of a room.

2. Solar-Powered Fence Lighting

Next up: our backyard. With warmer evenings rolling in, we wanted to create a soft, welcoming glow around our outdoor space without running electricity or dealing with timers. Enter these solar-powered fence lights we found on Amazon—and let me tell you, they’re worth every penny.

They tuck right along the top of our fence line and automatically turn on as the sun goes down, creating the prettiest glow. Whether we’re out there for tea time with the kids or winding down after a long day, these little lights have made our backyard feel magical.

3. Picture Frame Molding + Crown in the Bedroom

This one might be my favorite. We’ve slowly been refreshing our bedroom, and adding picture frame molding, a chair rail, and crown molding brought such a sense of elegance and completion to the space.

There’s something about traditional trim work that makes a room feel truly finished. It gave our bedroom depth, dimension, and that layered look I love so much. We kept the paint soft and serene, letting the millwork speak for itself—and now the whole space feels like a restful retreat.

Each of these projects was manageable and budget-friendly, but the payoff has been so worth it. They’ve added charm, intention, and a little extra beauty to the corners of our home that matter most.

If you’ve been itching to make a change, start small. Sometimes one curtain rod, one light, or one length of molding is all it takes to fall back in love with your space.
