Interior Design Consultation

All of our projects (big or small) begin with a consultation. This affords us the opportunity to meet you, walk through your space, and understand your design needs and style.

The Process —

  • Step 1: Questionnaire

    This initial questionnaire draws a clear picture of your wants and needs, as well as, identifies the overall scope of your project, while allowing us to determine if we are a good fit for your project.

  • Step 2: Discovery Call

    Our initial discovery call gives us an opportunity to discover more about you and your wish list as well as setting goals and a budget. Together, we’ll talk through your space and offer ideas that will help you understand the scope of the project; while YOU get to pick our brain and ask us any and all of your design questions.

  • Step 3: In-Home Consultation & Measurements

    We'll spend 90 minutes in your home, walking through your high priority spaces; these spaces can be identified as 5 of the top rooms you are looking to prioritize in your home. This initial design consultation step is a crucial part of our design process as it allows Tessa to meet you and any other decision makers in this project, walk through your home, get a feel for the layout of your space, take basic measurements and pictures and sit down with you to answer any questions you might have, as well as, break down our design process to ensure that it is a good fit for you.

  • Step 4: Consultation Summary

    Following your consultation, Tessa will send you a detailed post-consult summary, outlining all that you discussed during your time together. If at this time, you’ve discussed with Tessa next steps, she will craft a tailored design proposal for your project. This design proposal will outline our design fee, scope of work, process break down, and pay schedule. You will receive this custom proposal one week after our consultation. We will follow up with you once you’ve received the proposal to discuss any questions you might have and walk you through the next steps.

How to best prepare for your consultation:

  • → Come prepared with a list of questions for Tessa, as well as, a Pinterest board that you’ve created for each separate room. Organizing your boards based on the room in question gives Tessa better insight into your style and vision for each room.

  • → Gather together all decision makers within this design project (spouses/partners, family, children, etc) and have an open conversation about what you are willing to realistically invest into this project before Tessa arrives. If you are unsure, that’s fine. It’s best to discuss your level of commitment (i.e. the amount of time, energy and money) to this project so that Tessa can adequately determine the design service that best fits you.

  • → Get pumped!!! This is a huge step in creating your dream space(s) and that is something to celebrate! Tessa Kirby has a unique vision for each space and working alongside you to execute your dream space is her number one goal. This step gets you one step closer to making your dreams a reality and that is something to get excited about! Congrats!

Interior Design Consultations start at $300

After you fill out the questionnaire linked below, we will have a Discovery Call, followed by a scheduled 90-minute Walkthrough Consultation where you will meet with Tessa in your home. Tessa will send a recap of what was discussed after the walkthrough and the next steps will be given on how you will work together.
