Casual Layers & Weekend Ease: Barn Jackets + Wide Leg Jeans

Some days call for comfort, but that doesn’t mean sacrificing intention. This look is one of my go-tos for weekends when I want to feel put together without feeling “dressed up.” I started with a fitted brown long sleeve shirt — a warm, grounding base layer that instantly feels autumnal — and paired it with wide-leg denim that gives just the right amount of structure and movement. The olive utility jacket is the star here: classic, functional, and a little bit borrowed-from-the-boys in the best way.

A gold-buckled belt adds a touch of polish, and white sneakers keep it easy for running errands, chasing kids, or grabbing coffee downtown. It’s an outfit that lives somewhere between casual and refined — effortlessly practical, but still pulled together enough to feel like “you.” The kind of everyday uniform that just works, no matter what the day brings.
