This Week At Kindred Homestead 5.11
This week felt full of those tiny little details that somehow make a home feel more alive. I made the sweetest whimsical flower basket for the greenhouse door and couldn’t stop smiling once it was hung up. Turns out hanging baskets aren’t just for porches after all. One simple basket, a few soft florals, and suddenly the whole greenhouse felt like a little cottage garden tucked away somewhere dreamy. It reminded me again that the most charming touches are usually the simplest ones.
I also spent time gathering some outdoor decor finds that have been bringing so much layered, collected charm to our spaces lately. The whimsical textures, weathered finishes, and especially the soft glow of the solar-powered lights at night have been making everything feel extra magical this season. I love creating outdoor spaces that feel cozy and lived in — like they’ve slowly come together over time rather than all at once.
And in between it all, I’ve been sneaking little styled peeks of our gym bathroom renovation. It’s still not quite ready for the full reveal yet, but I honestly get more excited every time I walk into the space. I know “later this summer” probably sounds very far away, but I truly think this one is going to be worth the wait. The layers, the mood, the little details — it’s becoming one of my favorite spaces we’ve done yet.
In My Cart this Week
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the kinds of dreams that quietly stay with us. The ones that don’t necessarily feel urgent or practical, but keep showing up anyway. Our greenhouse tucked behind garden beds. A cozy corner of home that feels collected over time. Soft lighting, woven textures, little details that make everyday life feel slower and more meaningful, more charming. (Loving these new outdoor arrivals at Target for summer charm!)
I love spaces that tell a story like that — spaces built slowly, intentionally, and with heart. The kind that aren’t about perfection, but about creating a feeling you want to come home to.
This summer I’m going for a layered, feels-like-home collection with that lived-in summer charm that somehow feels straight out of the ’90s in the best way. Woven textures, soft lighting, collected details, and the kind of cozy pieces that make a home feel loved instead of overly styled. The vibe is nostalgic, warm, a little whimsical, and made for slow summer days at home.
Been loving this new Pinterest inspired outfit favorite and exactly the kind of look that feels made for a collected summer. Soft layers, easy textures, vintage-inspired details, and that effortless “thrown together but somehow perfect” feeling that reminds me of slow ’90s summers, farmers market mornings, and staying outside until the porch lights came on.
As always, thank you for being here and for making this such a beautiful, thoughtful community. I’m truly so grateful for each of you.
