This Week at Our Home
A life that feels slower, softer, more rooted. That’s what I keep coming back to lately — finding beauty in open windows, homemade meals, worn wood floors, lamp light at 6pm, and being present for the little things.
I’m also realizing more and more that I want our home and family life to reflect those values: less striving, more imagination, more time around the table, more meaningful traditions, and a home that feels lived in and loved.
August, in a nutshell
If August were my penpal, this is what it would say: a spontaneous week traveling through northern Michigan, my very first dahlias blooming, a pool that’s technically not finished but has already been thoroughly enjoyed, and the return of school rhythms.
It was a full month, but a good one. And now we’re easing into fall as slowly as possible.
Things I’m loving lately
A few recent favorites have been a mix of classic and collected — J.Crew style finds, patterned pieces for an anchored home, and furniture favorites that add character without making a room feel overly decorated.
I’ve also rounded up some Old Navy style finds for this in-between season and a handful of colorful, cozy Amazon home finds that are easy ways to add a little warmth and personality as we head into fall.
In My Cart This Week
A little fall, a little summer
Consider this my soft launch into the “ber” months. 🍂 I’m not rushing summer out the door — just cracking the window for cooler mornings, lighting a candle a little earlier, and letting the house get slightly cozier.
Summer can stay awhile longer. But September? You can come sit with us.
As always, thank you for being here and for making this such a beautiful, thoughtful community. I’m truly so grateful for each of you.
