This Week at Our Home

September always seems to bring a little shift around here—even when the weather hasn’t quite gotten the memo. We’re back in the school-year rhythm, thinking about cozy days ahead, and I’ve already found myself reminiscing on last year’s fall porch and dreaming up a few ideas for this year.

I pulled together our front porch inspiration along with a few new porch arrivals I have my eye on for the season. Nothing too over-the-top—just those little layers that make a home feel welcoming as the seasons change.

I’ve also been leaning into transitional style, finding pieces that can carry us from the warmer days into fall without feeling like we’ve jumped straight into sweater weather. I rounded up some Amazon transitional style finds and a few style pieces currently in my cart that feel especially good for this in-between season.

At home, we’ve been thinking a little more about what it means to build a life within our means—and why, sometimes, we choose to invest more deeply in the home we already have. So much of what makes a home meaningful happens quietly: the hands that built it, the people who care for it, and the everyday work that happens within its walls. There’s something beautiful about remembering that the work matters, even when no one is applauding it.

And of course, I’m starting to make room for all the cozy things that come with fall. I rounded up in-stock fall decor from Target for those ready to add a few seasonal touches without waiting weeks for them to arrive.

We’re not quite to crockpot weather here yet, but I’m ready. One of my favorite easy meals is this Sweet Potato Beef Stew—just a few simple ingredients, into the crockpot, and dinner takes care of itself. Warm bowls, full hearts, and leftovers that somehow taste even better the next day.

Here’s to the little transitions of September—the return to routines, the anticipation of fall, and all the quiet work of making a home and life we love.

As always, thank you for being here and for making this such a beautiful, thoughtful community. I’m truly so grateful for each of you.
