We started this project in the beginning of March with the hopes of creating a bathroom that was not only functional but beautiful. Seeing as this bathroom is the master suit of the house, we wanted to emphasize the size of the space while truly creating a “his and her” bathroom suit. If you have been following me along on Instagram you have seen the many different phases of this renovation. While not always pretty, this process has given way to more beauty than I think this house knows what to do with.

For the last month and a half, as I prepare for this next baby, I had the opportunity to work with an amazing client to help fill and furnish her basement guest bedroom. For this project she really wanted to create a space that her kids could feel comfortable and cozy in when they came to visit her.

If you know me, you know how much I love to shop at my local Goodwill store. They always have some hidden treasure that I am determined to find and let me tell you...I WILL find it! This time around I thought I'd share with you some fun pieces that I found that I turned into DIY projects (of course).

So what’s a gal to do when she desires to have a beautiful home but doesn’t have to talent to make it so? Well through plenty of trial and error I’m happy to share with you the secrets of how I finally have the living room makes my heart happy.

To keep the fun rolling we thought we'd share with you the worst part of the renovation...demolition! My husband has put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the removal of all those pepto pink tiles but I am NOT sad to see them go! Take a look!

I know what you're probably thinking...ANOTHER big announcement?! How in the world could they have ANOTHER announcement to make. Just shut up already Kirby family! But the truth is...this really IS a big announcement that I've been holding onto for a couple weeks now and I could not be more excited to finally share it with you all!

If you are painting say a bedroom and it's rather small the LAST thing you want to do is make it feel even smaller! That's what will happen if you choose darker colors (red, brown, navy, etc). And I would even be leery of those brighter colors too (pink, baby blue, green, etc). It's important to know that in smaller rooms, whites and neutral tones are a MUST! Subtle is better!

Spray paint gives you options to make something look the way you want it to look in a price range you can afford. It can also be a great temporary fix to hold you over until you can buy something that you really want.

This process allowed us the flexibility to create what we wanted, when we wanted and we couldn't be happier with the results.
