This Week at Our Home
This week, I found myself thinking about some of my favorite memories and how many of them were made around tables that cost almost nothing to put together. Folding tables borrowed from the garage, painters' drop cloths in place of expensive linens, mismatched dishes collected over the years, grocery store flowers tucked into little jars—it never really mattered what the table looked like. Three summers ago, I transformed the awkward little space between our garage and back entryway into a simple outdoor gathering spot using whatever we already had around the house. Since then, it's become the backdrop for laughter, celebrations, tears, long conversations, and so many moments I'll always treasure.
It was a reminder that hospitality has very little to do with having the perfect home, matching dishes, or a Pinterest-worthy setup. I shared a few of my favorite budget-friendly hosting ideas in hopes of encouraging you to open the gate, set the table with what you have, and invite your people over anyway. Because at the end of the day, no one remembers whether your plates matched—they remember how they felt sitting around your table.
I also shared one of my favorite summer side dishes: a Marinated Tomato & Mozzarella Salad. It's fresh, simple, and full of flavor thanks to a homemade herb vinaigrette. This was one of the dishes I served at a recent dinner gathering, and it's the perfect recipe to keep on hand for summer entertaining because it comes together quickly and can be made ahead of time. Finally, I rounded up some of my current favorite athletic wear pieces. As a mama of four who prioritizes health, wellness, and moving my body, I love finding pieces that help me feel put together without spending a fortune. These sets have quickly become part of my everyday uniform—they're comfortable, flattering, and easy to wear from workouts to coffee runs and everything in between.
As always, thank you for being here and for making this such a beautiful, thoughtful community. I’m truly so grateful for each of you.
