This Week at Our Home

If taking cozy season seriously means turning on every lamp by 4pm, lighting a completely unnecessary number of candles, making something warm for dinner, and finding any excuse to stay home… I fear I’m only getting started.

This week was very much about making the house feel a little warmer for fall without feeling like everything needs to be completely redone. The Pink Room got her autumn wardrobe with a few new bedding layers and warmer tones, and somehow those small changes completely shifted the mood without changing what I already love about the space.

That’s really where I’ve landed with seasonal decorating lately: less redecorating, more layering. A little color, a cozy textile, something collected, something new — enough to make our old house feel a little more like the season and a little more like us.

I rounded up some of my favorite fall bedroom inspiration this week and some beautiful Quince and Sézane finds that feel especially right for this time of year. Think warm textures, easy layers, and pieces that can carry you through the season rather than feeling like a one-month purchase.

And because apparently I’m already thinking ahead, the new Studio McGee holiday collection at Target also made its debut this week. It’s always fun to see those first holiday pieces start appearing, especially when they have that collected, classic feeling that works so naturally with an older home.

For now, though, I’m happily staying in autumn mode: warmer bedding, layered rooms, lamps on early, candles lit, and absolutely no shame in making the house as cozy as possible.

As always, thank you for being here and for making this such a beautiful, thoughtful community. I’m truly so grateful for each of you.
