An Honest Review of Our 5 Piece Outdoor Lounge Set From Wayfair

One of the most important things we’ve learned over the years — whether it’s a home project or simply furnishing a patio — is that patience pays off. Good spaces aren’t rushed. They’re collected over time with pieces that not only serve a purpose but also add to the feeling you want your home (or garden) to have.
When it came time to create a true sitting area outside — a place to sip coffee in the mornings, read books in the afternoons, and gather with friends on cool summer evenings — we knew we wanted something that felt relaxed, welcoming, and easy to live with. After a lot of searching, we ended up ordering this 5-piece seating set from Wayfair, and today I wanted to share an honest review for anyone who might be in the same season of “furnishing slow but dreaming big.”
First Impressions
When the set arrived, I was immediately struck by how beautiful the woven PE wicker looked in person. It has that easy, slightly coastal texture — almost like something you’d find on a sun-drenched front porch or tucked into a seaside garden. The neutral cushions are a dream to work with too. They feel fresh and understated, which makes layering throw pillows or a cozy blanket effortless.
The set comes with a three-seater sofa, two roomy armchairs, and two ottomans, which honestly ended up being one of my favorite parts. They make it so easy to prop up your feet or pull up an extra seat when neighbors or friends wander over (which happens often around here!).
Comfort + Quality
I’ll be honest — I always get a little nervous about outdoor furniture cushions. I’ve seen some that feel paper-thin the minute you sit down. These, thankfully, are supportive without being too stiff. They’re not overly plush (if you’re looking for a “sink right in” kind of feel, you might want to add some extra cushion inserts later on), but for everyday use — family hangs, cocktail sippin’, spontaneous late-night chats under the market lights — they’re truly lovely.
The wicker itself feels solid, and the frames have held up well to both wind and a few good spring storms we’ve already had this year. We have bought some covers though that we’re waiting on so I’ll share those soon when they come.

Assembly + Setup
I’ll be honest here, putting it together wasn’t a piece of cake. It definitely is a 2 man job which the instructions explicitly state. It took us all of 2 hours to put this together; It wasn’t “complicated” in the sense that the directions weren’t clear, it was more so just incredibly time consuming with the tools they provide you with. We ended up grabbing our own power tools to help make the process a little faster and even still, there was a lot of unreachable angles for our drill so we had to hand tighten most of it.
A little tip: if you’re setting this up on uneven ground (like grass or gravel), it helps to put some pavers or an outdoor rug underneath to give it a little more stability..

What We Love
The set looks so much more expensive than it actually is. This whole set was under $800!

A Few Honest Notes
If you prefer very plush seating, you may want to add a second cushion layer or invest in some cozy throw pillows to soften it up even more.
The cushions are water-resistant but not fully waterproof, so we recommend storing them inside during heavy rainstorms to extend their life or getting outdoor covers.

Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, this set has become one of our favorite gathering spots, and it feels like a little extension of home — right in the backyard.
It’s not about having the fanciest or most elaborate space; it’s about creating places where people feel at ease. This set helped us do just that — without breaking the bank, without overcomplicating it, and in a way that feels beautifully simple.
