When I first started down the interior design path, I have to admit, I completely underestimated the power of window treatments. I thought they were function based ONLY! And rarely used them…

I started this entire makeover knowing I wanted THESE curtains from Two Page Curtains. They have so many quality centered window treatments and there are so many to choose from. The minute I hung these it was an instant room facelift.

So I’ve been dreaming up a space that is essentially decorated to feel like a cabin. That may sound weird but what I envision when he enters in, is that he will feel like he’s stepping into cozy, layered retreat!

Everything we used in this space were things we already had! And it’s amazing what a little creativity and rearranging can do to a space.

This past month we have slowly begun to transition our girls into a shared room, therefore revamping this space was a must! This vintage inspired design theme; combining both found and new items has helped create a space that is timeless and classic.

I’ve always loved the look of wall sconces but in full transparency adding additional hard wired electrical was not really an option for us living in a 100 year old house with lath, plaster, etc. So the next best option was to find a wall lamp that had a clear cord we could minimize the appearance of a cord at all.

Everyone always tells you, never paint a small room a dark color because it makes the room feel even smaller and I’m not going to lie, as a designer, I have told many clients that myself. But there is something magical about dark, high gloss paint that is just hard to explain.
