DIY: Canvas Drop Cloth Curtains

Last week I shared the reveal of this dreamy farmhouse styled kids room on the blog and I had so many questions about these curtains. You can check out the entire room reveal HERE.

This drop cloth curtain project was the easiest, cheapest, and quickest project I have ever done! If you need a quick and easy (not to mention affordable) window treatment, this is your answer!

A couple years ago I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Liz Marie Galvan, make these curtains and I always told myself that one day, with the right house, I would make them too. So when we moved a couple months ago, and inherited a million windows, I KNEW it was my time!

DIY: Shabby Chic Curtains On A Dime

So here's the big secret...drop cloth. Yes, you heard me...CANVAS DROP CLOTH. That's it...a quick trip to one of my favorite hardware stores and $20 later I have the most cozy, shabby chic curtains!

Not only do I have them in my little boys room but I've put them in my main living room and I absolutely LOVE how they warm up each space they're in. Want to make them? Here's how...

1. Buy any size of canvas drop cloth from Lowes, Menards, Home Depot. I bought the 6x9 ft ones HERE, for $10 and they are PERFECT!

2. Wash them! When you take the canvas drop clothes out of their packaging they are extremely stiff. I washed mine right away and it made them super soft like linen.

3. Fold over the top of the curtain (to create the ruffle look on top). I folded this one about 12 inches over but you can do whatever length you'd like depending on how long you want them to be.

4. Buy the curtain ring clips like pictured above. I got THIS package of curtain rings for $9 and they come with 6 rings in each package. One package covers one 6x9 drop cloth. And space them evenly across the top (where your fold is).

5. Now you're ready to hang! Buy whatever kind of curtain rod you'd like, and hang them up! These curtain rings make adjusting these curtains so easy and you're going to LOVE the way they look!

HAPPY DIY-ING FRIENDS!!!
