In 2021 we saw this re-emergence of traditional, classic design that some people (those outside the design world) would describe as very “vintage” like; while IN the design world would be categorized as “Grandmillennial.”

So often we want a specific design or decor piece because we saw someone else have it and it looked so beautiful in their space and then when we buy into that trend or that piece, we find that sometimes it doesn’t always give us that same feeling that it did when we first saw it in “so and so’s” home.

I had so much fun designing this house though. So much so that I wanted to share it all with you here! You can find most of the details and sources below!

There are so many components that go into making over a kitchen that it can be intimidating to know where to even begin or what to even focus on. But I’m here to assure you that you don’t need to be a design expert to take charge in this arena. All you need are a few simple tips on where to begin and what to focus on.

Like it sounds…finish work describes anything that is used to “finish” off your home (i.e. trim work, crown moulding, window casings, millwork, shiplap, paneling, coffered ceilings etc). All of these things are typically found in a home BUT they aren’t necessarily a “necessity” of building a home.

These rich colors really do bring us back in time especially when they saturate an entire room from floor to ceiling - Covering the walls, the trim, the ceiling, and even the doors. If you’re thinking of going bold this year, just do it! But do it with one of these 6 moody paint colors that every home needs to have at least ONE of!

Knowing how to pick the perfect white paint doesn’t have to be hard; with a little color theory and know how of these 3 basic principles will make picking the right white paint as stress free as possible.

Nightstands can get pricey and vary so much from site to site so after looking and looking for days upon days, I finally kept coming back to this one. It checked all the boxes for what we wanted and was such a good price! Only $140! Check it out!

Wall lamps (are basically wall sconces but have the “plug-in” option) are perfect for those of us that can’t take on the task of hardwiring a sconce into our desired location. But the thing about wall lamps is the hideous cord that often runs from the bottom of the wall lamp to the outlet.

Finding the perfect flush mount or semi-flush mount lights can be hard and honestly, sometimes super pricey (or maybe it’s hard because they are pricy???). But, no need to worry anymore friends! I’ve found some AMAZING entryway and hallway show stoppers that you won’t be able to keep out of your online shopping cart because they are THAT good!

Ceramic table lamps are all the rage right now and for good reason too. They are beautiful and act as both a statement piece and a functional accessory to any space they’re in. I have recently thrifted two old ceramic lamps and refinished them to look like one of these high end lamps I’ve shared here and I am so in love.

People often get overwhelmed when trying to figure out where and how to add texture but let me make it way easier for you. There are 4 different (and super easy) ways that I like to add texture to my spaces.

I wanted to add a vintage gallery wall to my house but I couldn’t figure out where until we redid our hardwood floors and stairs and suddenly it was like the heavens opened and I saw the perfect opportunity!
